Primary responsibility is troubleshooting CNC machining equipment and ensuring Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures are completed to maintain equipment. The technician will also assist in CNC programming and debugging while providing technical support to Production, Quality, and Engineering departments.



  • Perform basic CNC programming to set-up, modify, and troubleshoot production machining processes.
  • Provide technical support to improve overall efficiency of the CNC machining cells, access tooling needs, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal resources to diagnose machine issues; coordinate with service technicians, when required, to repair and /or maintain equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Identify and address CNC machining maintenance issues; identify and replace parts as necessary.
  • Complete specified Preventative Maintenance (PM) of the equipment within the CNC and manual machining cells and maintain accurate and up-to-date PM records.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling Designers to insure design for manufacturing of product and fixture designs.
  • Assist in the production of prototype and pre-production parts as required.
  • Support Link’s continuous improvement program by identifying and initiating improvements within the machining processes.
  • Perform general maintenance support the priorities of the maintenance department.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as requested by the organization.

  • Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Able to troubleshoot, determine root cause and identify and implement solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electrical test equipment, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

·         Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Work with a sense of urgency to address machine down and have the ability to prioritize and manage time well.
  • Must be able to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision.


         Two-year certificate from college or technical school with three years of related CNC machining and maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Electrical licensing preferred.

·         Experience operating and maintaining CNC machining equipment and the ability to utilize software to program CNC machining equipment.

·         Proficient at blue print interpretation and experience using various measuring tools.

·         Understands machining tolerances and expectations to make appropriate programming adjustments to achieve desired results.
